Four new Robinsons malls will be opened to the public this year.
The RLC’s biggest project this year is the Robinsons Galleria Cebu. It will have its soft opening in September. Robinsons Place Tagum in Davao del Norte is set to open in December; Robinsons Place Jaro in Iloilo by February 2016; and Robinsons Place Gen Trias in Cavite, by March 2016.

“These new additions to RLC’s network of 44 malls all over the country highlight the company’s confidence in the growth areas outside the National Capital Region,” Robinsons Malls General Manager Arlene Magtibay said.

According to the Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) vice president for lease, Lourdes Alano, RLC is mandated to open at least five malls every year. “That’s how we would like to grow now”, Alano said.

The five-mall directive was inspired by the success of the Robinsons Place Tacloban that opened in 2011.

The new malls and those already existing in different provinces showcase restaurants and pasalubong centers that serve the location’s famous local delicacies. “These are the ones that add flavor to the entire development,” Alano said.

According to Alano, what sets Robinsons malls apart from other shopping centers are their designs. “We [Robinsons Malls] are not the typical box-like [malls].”

Robinsons Place Tagum is situated in Barangay Magugpo in Tagum, Davao Del Norte’s capital. A total of 34,439 sqm in leasable spaces will be offered to over 300 tenants, or about 60% of the mall’s gross floor area of 65,800 sqm. Jonathan O. Gan Associates designed the four-floor complex to draw attention to the provincial mood, local culture and rich heritage of Tagum.  The city serves as the province’s business gateway and functions as convergence area for developments and processing centers.  A study conducted in 2007 by the premier business school Asian Institute of Management cited Tagum as one of the top seven most viable mid-sized cities to do business in the Philippines, read more Robinsons to open four new malls
