The Ateneo SHS campus, which is set to open sometime in May 2019, was designed by Archt. John Immanuel R. Palma, the principal architect.
It will feature 4 school buildings and 1 administration building with 4 storeys each. The SHS campus will have 90 classrooms and 38 prime laboratories including the Science, Engineering, Speech, and Art labs.
It will be the first eco-school in the country as the design of the structures will follow the call of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’.
The campus will have a structure to harness rainwater which will be used for the comfort rooms and other non-potable purposes. It will also have photovoltaic solar panels that will help supply the energy requirements, and aerodynamic design to harness wind in order to cool off the building.
“The SHS family is thrilled with the new Ateneo Senior High School campus that is globally and locally at par with the best in Mindanao, the nation, and the world,” SHS Director Ricardo Enriquez said.
